Student Voice Representatives provide academic representation to ensure you have your say in the quality of education you receive. Any student can apply to be a Voice Rep.

Become a Voice Rep

Being a Voice Rep lets you make a significant impact in your academic community while developing a wide range of valuable skills such as leadership, negotiation, effective communication, problem-solving, advocacy, and lobbying.

You will receive comprehensive support from Keele SU, Faculty Officer, and the Education Officer. Training sessions and ongoing support are provided to ensure you are well-prepared for the role.

Applications open at the start of the academic year for all courses, giving everyone an opportunity to get involved.

    Hello! My name is River and I am the Education Officer this year. I am here to help student voice representatives learn their role, build skills and confidence and make sure they have everything they need to take student feedback and report back to staff. I support Voice Representatives and make myself available to all voice reps and staff and hope to foster positive communication between them. I believe student voice representation is critical to making positive change and hope to uplift all voice reps to be the best version of themselves in their role.

    Hello everyone, my name is John, and I am the KPA President. I will work closely with the postgraduate voice reps to ensure that every piece of feedback from each representative is heard and acted on by the University and the Students' Union. My role will connect student voices with the university by supporting academic and wellbeing issues and bringing meaningful changes to the lives of every postgraduate student. My focus is to make sure postgraduate voices are heard.

About Student Voice

Some of the issues Voice Reps have helped to resolve in the past include problems with resources (for example, not enough books in the library for a module), unsuitable teaching rooms, online resources, confusing teaching styles or assessment feedback, and ideas for curriculum development.

Don't forget positive feedback! If there is something you love about your course, tell your Voice Representative so they can tell the School!

If you have an individual issue or complaint that should not be brought up in a meeting with staff and students, you can contact ASK at Keele SU. ASK can help with a range of issues from academic appeals, complaints, health, immigration, housing, family, legal and financial issues.
